THE ELDERLY

Many studies have been conducted that demonstrate pet ownership playing a positive effect physically and mentally for pet owners.  For older members of society who are less active and suffer from social isolation - pets are an important role in their lives.  The presence of a pet can offer an elderly person a sense of self-worth, an incentive to become active and conversational.

In the past, pet ownership has been discouraged among the elderly, because of the physical demands involved.  Though The Pet Loo does not function as an alternative for a dog's exercise, it does provide an alternative to the frequent runs up and down the stairs to take the dog out.
